Vega Security's Shay Sandler on the Asymmetrical Moment in Cyber Defense

Shay Sandler co-founded Vega Security in 2024 to replace the SIEM, the model security operations has run on since 2005. Vega was named to the Disruptors 60 Class of 2025 and closed a $120 million Series B in February, five months after its seed.

Greenfield partner Itay Inbar sat down with him to talk through what Shay calls the asymmetrical moment in cyber defense: attackers can now get frontier-model capability off open weights for almost nothing, while the systems defending against them were designed before the cloud existed. They cover the OpenAI agents that escaped a test sandbox and breached Hugging Face, how you write detections for attacks nobody has seen before, and whether the security services layer survives agentic defense.
