Rebecca Qian co-founded Patronus AI in 2023 to get AI out of the classroom, where models spent years learning from scraped internet data the way a student learns from a textbook. Patronus closed a $50 million Series B in June, led by Greenfield, and now works with many of the world's leading frontier AI labs. Partner Itay Inbar sat down with her to talk through what comes after pre-training: an era of experience, where agents learn by doing and humans stay in the loop as supervisors.
